June 2, 1923: "Sealed bids will be received by the board of Supervisors at Eureka until 2 o'clock p.m. Tuesday, June 12th, 1923, for the construction of a covered wooden truss bridge near Lawrence Creek, in Road District No. 3, in Humboldt county." (Blue Lake Advocate)
June 15, 1923: "Bridge and road matters disposed of by the Supervisors, who adjourned their June session Wednesday, consisted of accepting the bid of Smith Brothers of $2449 for building the bridge at Booths Run." (Ferndale Enterprise)
July 14, 1923: "Smith brothers presented to the supervisors a claim for building a wooden truss covered bridge at Booth Run on the Kneeland-Bridgeville road at the contract price of $930. On recommendation of County Surveyor A.J. Logan, 75 per cent of the estimate of the contractors amounting to $679.50 was allowed and ordered paid." (Blue Lake Advocate)
