SAN LEANDRO (14TH STREET)
San Leandro Creek
June 23, 1881: "Mr. Clement said that he had understood that the Town Trustees of San Leandro wished to take action in regard to lighting the covered bridge across San Leandro creek, and proposed that if the county would erect a lamp at the west end of the bridge the Town Trustees would erect one at the east end and keep both lighted. On motion, the matter was finally referred to Mr. Clement, with power to act." (Oakland Tribune)
