NORTH FORK MAD RIVER
North Fork Mad River
July 8, 1911: "Although the road has been surveyed years ago and a substantial covered bridge built across the North Fork of Mad River, Supervisor Baldwin believes that the old survey will be amended and instead of going right over the Merryman hill after leaving Blue Lake, the survey will probably run a short distance to the east of that, in a low gap, which will intersect the old survey below the Mankin ranch and thus connecting at the bridge. From the wagon bridge to the Draeger place an excellent three percent grade is established and it will be a cheap road to build. Everybody in northeastern Humboldt is looking forward to the early completion of this short cut-off." (Blue Lake Advocate)
